Christmas in Liberia!

Welcome Elder Elliott!  He is from America.
Welcome also, Elder Conners from America and his trainer is Elder Mohlahatsa.
Our Assistants in Liberia:  Elder Addo and Elder Hill.  Since we aren't doing border crossings any longer, in which we took our Assistants, we need some in Liberia.  They have been a great help already.
Bushrod Island Zone...dignified

I couldn't decide which one was more fun so posted both!  :-)
Elder Humphreys (trainer) with Elder Elliott
Sister Agbonifo and Sister Lemah

Elder Essego, Bushrod Island Zone Leader (with Elder Harris) talking with Elder Elliott who has been in Liberia for a few days. (Elder Pentreath on the right)
Singing Christmas Carols
Book of Mormon portrayal... (They used their bed sheets and brooms for spears.)
Christmas Eve with Elder and Sister Krumm, Elder and Sister Miles and Elder and Sister Kirkham.  We watched White Christmas, Christmas Carol, had ice cream sundaes and made sub sanwiches.  They were a joy to be with!
Christmas Day we had a Christmas Conference with the Monrovia Zone
Our usual dignified shot...

Full of fun... and couldn't decide again so put both...
Enjoying a fun moment with President Roggia.
Elder Buckman.  He returns home on January 18th after two years of faithful service.
Elder Smith taking care of the chairs.
Elder Anderson couldn't decided which tie to wear.
Elder Udotim and Elder Ideh
Mail is still a wonderful treat no matter when it comes!  Christmas time is especially nice...
Fun! Sister Krumm (in white cosmetic mask) and Sister Kirkham (in pink).  Sister Krumm was trimming Sister Kirkham's hair.  Beauty salons are few and far between here.  We all help each other or our husbands do the trimming or we do it ourselves.  Sister Randall has found a good place in Freetown for her hair.

Travel, travel, travel

This is the video of the hovercraft carrying Elder and Sister Holland .
Assistants to the President:  Elder Barth and Elder Otanyiuwa
Heading out among the people in Bo...
Missionaries taking the Bo bus to Freetown.
Loading the luggage on top.
Away they go!  It took about five hours to Freetown. They were stuck in traffic on Kissy Road for a long time and dropped off elders as the bus went through town, but everyone got in.  Thanks to Elder Randall who picked up the rest at the bus station and delivered them to their apartments.  It was a long day of travel. (thanks for the pics of the bus Elder Schlehuber)
How much more can one get in the trunk on a foggy, smokey day?
Not very much to hang on to...  And we are going about 50-60 mph.
Okay.  One big green truck moving over the line on the left, motorbikes, people walking on the right and a man with his bovine (who swerves out in front of our vehicle) and good brakes.  Always grateful for good brakes and quick reactions...

Bo East Zone and Bo West Zone Christmas Conferences

Joyful moment
Fun moment
More fun playing water balloon volleyball but using water sachets..
Oh-h, whoops!  One of the sachets smacked the mirror on the Mission President's car!  Quick shine it ... :-)
On both volleyball photos, you can see the sachet of water in the air...
Carrying their Christmas boxes... Excitement!
Oh, how we love our missionaries!  They all sacrifice and serve with all their hearts.
Sister Missionaries singing Christmas Carols for all of us.
Playing Scripture Jeopardy
Listening intently.
We go to Liberia next week and will finish the Christmas Conferences with Bushrod Island Zone and Monrovia Zone.
